Eswatini Nicaragua

Your first stop is in the small but incredible nation of Swaziland (its name was recently changed to eSwatini). Swaziland has the highest HIV/AIDS rate in the world and as a result 1,000 of children have been left without parents. We have had a long-standing presence in Swaziland and have built a base there run by local and international staff. We partner with Children’s Hope Chest to operate large system of care points serving local orphaned and underserved children.

Your World Race: Gap Year will take you to Thailand, known for its stunning beaches, friendly people and bustling outdoor food markets. You will feel welcomed here, and have countless opportunities to share your faith with both locals and tourists. In Thailand, you may spend your days loving on children with special needs or doing projects around our Adventures Thailand base. You will likely spend hours covering this country, your teammates, and the base in prayer.

Your final stop on the Race will continue south to the thick rainforests, rugged highlands, and stunning crystal lakes of Nicaragua. Nicaragua has a large number of people who know the Gospel, though there is great poverty and political unrest. Racers typically focus on relationship building with abandoned children over sports, English, and arts and crafts. The children are wounded but still have childlike joy and just crave the opportunity to be kids.
