3 Ways We Keep Our Mission Trips Safe

There is no doubt that COVID-19 has put a strain on our routines, our plans, and ultimately, our definition of normal. Yet, even in the midst of so much uncertainty and unknown, God is still moving. We are deeply committed to the mission God has given us to reach the world for Christ. Though we may have new challenges now, we are still mobilizing missionaries while adhering to the guidelines that allow us to care for not only our participants, but those we are called to serve. With diligent preparation and wisdom and safety at the forefront, World Race has launched squads to Colombia,...

The Kingdom in Our Midst

This week’s blog comes from World Race Alumna, Mary B. Safrit, a Manhattan-based writer, podcaster, speaker, and creative coach. She creates content that helps single Christians build community, find belonging, and live out their calling. Her podcast, Unsuitable with MaryB. Safrit, on which she interviews single Christians about their lives and faith, is in its fifth season. You can listen wherever you get your podcasts. For blogs, resources, and more, check out marybsafrit.com. I left for The World Race as a fresh college graduate in September of 2012. At the end of month 3, we were...

Start Something New With This FREE Devotional

The beginning of a year is a time for fresh perspective and renewed vision. As we start 2021, we want to intentionally follow Him into the new year with our hearts and hands open to deeper connection with Him and the abundant life He has for us and embrace the newness God has for us. In Hindsight: the World Race in 2020

This year has certainly been one for the history books. Future generations will read stories of sickness and hopelessness. Isolation, division and destruction will be headlines of 2020. Even still, we’ll see the beauty that can come from these ashes. When everything stops… there is no more striving; instead, we will see healing and hope. Stories will be decorated with community, reconciliation, and restoration. We’ll see a generation of believers awakened to a deeper understanding of God’s love and their identity in Christ. Those that earnestly seek first the kingdom of God will see Him...

ADVENT: Peace & Chaos

This week, we focus on Peace. Real peace comes only from God and allows us to trust in His promises and find rest, even through a world of chaos. “Glory to God in the highest heaven,     and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2:14) As we approach Christmas, it’s safe to say that many of us are not where we expected to be. We entered 2020 with sentiments of “our year” with visions of new life. World Race alumni had just returned from the mission field with renewed vision for life at home as many new Racers boarded flights to start the 11-month journey of a lifetime. From...

ADVENT: Joy & Grief

This week, we focus on JOY. True joy can come only from the presence of Jesus in our lives and through the salvation He has gifted us, not from our ever-changing circumstances. Hailey Smith, World Race: Gap Year 2020 (Gap D), reflects on the unexpected end of her time on the Adventures campus in Georgia and how God has taught her about joy in the midst of grief and pain. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence… (Psalm 16:11) Well, here we are. My World Race: Gap Year squad was supposed to go home for 10 days for Thanksgiving break, but those...
