In South Korea, the old and new collide — high-speed trains rush past ancient temples, and neon lights glow above centuries-old tea houses. It’s vibrant, creative, and full of energy.
But even here, not everything shines. Many wrestle with burnout, identity, and a silent ache for something real in the midst of performance culture.
This is where we come in. We’re here to bring hope and remind the people of South Korea that they are seen, known, and loved by a God who doesn’t measure worth by performance.
Culture
Traditional greetings include bows of varying depth: deeper bows signal greater respect or apology, and are sometimes paired with handshakes, especially in business contexts. ʻRight hand supported by left’ shows courtesy.
Social cohesion is emphasised over individual assertion. Maintaining others’ sense of dignity and avoiding open disagreement is key to relationships and daily life.
Explore
Head south to Busan for beaches and fresh seafood, or hike the trails of Seoraksan National Park for breathtaking nature. Don’t miss Jeju Island’s volcanic landscapes and tranquil coastlines, showcasing the perfect blend of beauty and peace.
