How the World Race Partners with Beauty for Ashes to Transform Lives

In 2019, J-squad of the World Race embarked on a mission to South Asia, joining forces with Beauty for Ashes to bring healing and hope to the dedicated staff at Sarah’s Covenant Homes. This collaboration is a shining example of how the World Race partners with other branches of Adventures in Missions’ ministries like Beauty for Ashes to expand the reach and impact of their work across the globe.

Beauty for Ashes is renowned for its powerful retreats that minister to women from various walks of life, and the squad’s use of their model and resources showcased the profound difference such partnerships can make. The retreat focused on one key message: rest. This theme resonated deeply with the women who work tirelessly to care for children, often neglecting their own needs for peace and renewal.

The team engaged in meaningful activities, including a drawing exercise where the women reflected on their spiritual closeness to God. The Racers shared the story of Martha and Mary, encouraging them to find solace and rest at Jesus’ feet. This approach not only allowed the women to reconnect with their faith but also provided a space for personal reflection and healing.

One of the most impactful moments occurred when the team realized that many of the women had never heard the gospel before. As they shared the message of Jesus, five women responded by inviting Him into their hearts. This moment of transformation was a testament to the power of sharing God’s love and the significant role that Beauty for Ashes plays in this mission.

Another deeply moving experience was the foot-washing ceremony. In South Asia, where feet are considered dirty and touching them is a profound act of humility, this gesture held immense significance. The Racers washed the women’s feet and prayed over them, honoring them and demonstrating the depth of God’s love and care. This act of service was a beautiful reflection of the heart of Beauty for Ashes and the mission of the World Race.

Our partnership with Beauty for Ashes allows us to extend the reach of their ministry, bringing their message of hope and healing to new regions and communities.
