I thought I was a Christian, but when I was 19 my view of everything (Jesus, the Bible, Church, Christianity) came tumbling down. I found myself angry and confused as I questioned what I had been told all my life. Little did I know I was on the path to making my faith my own. I spent the next few years figuring out who God was and what I believed. By the time I was 21, I decided Jesus was the answer. Since then, God has taken me from the slums of India to the mountains of Africa. He's transformed my heart, strengthened my faith, and given me purpose beyond myself. My story has given me a passion for the next generation because I know firsthand how influential those first few years out of high school are. I can't wait for you to join us on this journey!

I'm truly grateful for the fact that I grew up in a Christian home going to church each Sunday and I asked Christ to be my Savior at an early age. But, I never understood what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus that impacted every aspect of my life. I remember being a middle schooler, watching people at church worship and seeing how deeply they connected with God. I knew there was something more than just going to church and trying to be a good person. And I wanted it. It was my freshman year of highschool when God invited me to decide if I was going to be all in for Jesus in a way that would radically change my life. And I said yes because I wanted the depth of relationship with Him I'd seen glimpses of in others. I was baptized a short time later. It was at that time God began to take me on a journey of discovering my identity in Christ and how to live a life seeking first the Kingdom of God. I dove headfirst into the Word of God and clung to it through hard and great seasons. God began to reveal his heart to me as well as my passion for ministry and for missions. In 2017 I launched on my World Race. I not only found more of God's heart for me, the world, and for his Kingdom, but I found my role in it. I've been serving in ministry through missions and discipleship ever since. I'm passionate about walking others into deeper relationship with Jesus and their role in the Kingdom and am excited to do this journey with you!

Next, your Gap Year journey will take you to India. Most Racers live and serve in North East India, where the villages are bustling with activity. You’ll experience India with all your senses as you walk through the sea of colors and take in all the spices wafting through the air. Indian people might seem stern, but their hearts are incredibly warm and relational. Expect to be invited into someone’s home and offered chai often as people invite you to simply sit and talk.

Your last stop is in the peaceful paradise of Costa Rica – where you’ll quickly grow to love the slow, “pura vida” lifestyle. The main focus of ministry for Racers will be partnering with local churches to share the Gospel with rural communities, especially in impoverished border towns. Some Racers even get the opportunity to grab surfboards, head to the sandy beaches, and minister to the surfer community while leading camps for kids on the beach.
