How World Race: America Was Born

Last year, World Race Squad Mentor and friend of the Holy Spirit, Teresa McMillan, shared a dream the Lord put on her heart. She felt a strong stirring God wanted to bring revival in the United States, and she hoped to mobilize a group of World Racers to do ministry together around the country. We jumped on board with her idea and opened up the opportunity to World Race alumni. They crowdsourced a van, and a small, fearless group of world-changers set off in January of 2019 on a road trip to minister to the 50 states. This team has been humble, Spirit-led and courageous as they have lived simply,...

Want to live like a World Racer?

Want to live like a World Racer for a day? Answering emails at your desk, shopping at the mall, or sitting through your algebra class might not seem like the ideal setting to live like a World Racer. But what if it was? The World Race is about taking “ordinary” moments in your life and intentionally living them for the Lord. Racers do this all the time: Praying for people at the market becomes normal. Teaching English becomes an opportunity to share the Gospel. Stopping to talk to the man on the street is an opportunity to spread the hope of Jesus. You might not be in the bush of Africa, but...

God Led a Man Searching for Truth to a World Racer

While on a typical bus ride in Malaysia, Kylee Krusemark met a man searching for truth. Their conversation was one she will never forget. “I’ve been waiting for a bus forever.” That’s all it took to begin a conversation I won’t soon forget. Mark* shared his reason for visiting this town in Malaysia. We shared ours. “So you’re Christian?” he asked. Mark then shared his beliefs about spirituality. He saw the benefits, especially in a moral sense. He believed in some form of divinity and that we are all on a journey to discover it. He saw it as though we are all climbing a mountain to discover...

7 Things I Learned About Missions

Today, the word “church” means different things to different people. For the month of May, we are trying to expand that definition. Jonathan Hogue dives into this by showing what missions actually is, expanding the narrow box he once held it in. In my seven months on the World Race, I’ve learned one major thing: Missions does not fit the small narrow box that I once held it in. Before coming on the Race, I held a lot of romantic ideas about what missions life would look like. But throughout this year, I’ve come to realize that missions is so much more than what the basic white girls...
