High in southern Mexico, above the heat of the lowlands, sits San Cristobal de las Casas, a colonial town of cobblestones and color surrounded by indigenous Maya villages. This is a different Mexico than most people picture.
For one month you will live in these highlands, serve children and families, and walk with the local church into communities that outsiders rarely see. Chiapas will ask you to slow down, to notice, and to love people whose names you did not know a month before.
