Learning to See: How the World Opens Your Eyes to God’s Heart

When was the last time you paused to truly take in the world around you? To look beyond your own culture, comfort zone, or perspective and ask, “What is God showing me here?” The World Race is more than a mission trip – it’s an invitation to open your eyes, expand your heart, and encounter God’s love in ways you never imagined.
As Racers step into unfamiliar cultures, they begin to see the beauty of God’s creativity, the depth of His love, and His purpose for people across the globe. It’s a journey that transforms not only the way you view the world but how you live your faith.
God’s Heart in the Beauty of Diversity
Each culture reflects the creativity of its Creator. From the vibrant colors of Guatemalan markets to the bustling streets of Southeast Asia or the rolling hills of East Africa, God’s fingerprint is evident in every corner of the earth. But it’s not just the landscapes that reveal His glory – it’s the people.
Racers often find themselves deeply impacted by the kindness, hospitality, and faith of the communities they serve. One Racer reflected, “I saw God in the faces of the children who laughed with us, in the women who welcomed us into their homes, and in the church leaders who tirelessly served their congregations. God’s love transcends every language and culture.”
Seeing God’s Love in the Unexpected
On the World Race, the unfamiliar becomes a window into God’s heart. Racers encounter moments that challenge their perspectives, confront their assumptions, and remind them of the vastness of God’s love.
One Racer shared, “I thought I was coming to give, but I realized how much I needed to receive. In East Africa, I met people who had so little materially but so much spiritually. Their faith, joy, and generosity changed how I understood God’s provision.”
These moments are not just eye-opening – they’re heart-shaping. They teach Racers to trust God more deeply, to see His hand in every circumstance, and to love others the way He does.
Joining God’s Work in the World
The World Race is a call to action. It’s an opportunity to live out the Great Commission, to bring hope to communities in need, and to grow in your understanding of God’s global Kingdom. Through serving others, sharing the Gospel, and building relationships, Racers witness firsthand how God is moving across the world.
