Inviting Others Into the Race

A guide to partnership development for World Race participants

When you say yes to the World Race, you’re not stepping into a journey you’re meant to carry alone. From the very beginning, the Race has always been built on partnership, on inviting others to walk with you, pray with you, and take part in what God is doing through your obedience.

Support raising isn’t about convincing people to give; it’s about inviting people into ministry.

It Starts With Prayer

Before you ever talk about finances, you’ll begin by building a prayer team. These are the people who commit to covering you, your squad, and the communities you’ll serve throughout your time on the field.

Prayer sets the foundation for everything that follows. It keeps your heart anchored in the truth that this journey is led by God, sustained by Him, and never meant to be run solo. When you invite someone to pray, you’re already inviting them into partnership.

This journey begins with trusting God side by side.

You Won’t Do This Alone

You’re not sent out to figure this out by yourself.

As part of the World Race, you’ll receive intentional training designed to help you have meaningful, life-giving conversations with friends, family, and potential partners. Through video trainings, guided steps, and practical tools, you’ll learn how to move from feeling unsure or awkward to communicating your heart with clarity and confidence.

You’ll also be supported by coaches who walk with you throughout the process. These are people who help you slow down, listen well, pray through next steps, and recognize the people God has already placed in your life. They’re there to encourage you, challenge you, and remind you that God is faithful, especially when the process feels stretching.

Every World Race staff member has raised their own support. They don’t just teach this, they’ve lived it.

Partnership Is an Invitation

When you sit down with someone to share about the Race, your role isn’t to ask for money. Your role is to invite them into what God is doing.

You’re inviting them to:

  • Hear how God is moving in your life
  • Join you in prayer
  • Be encouraged through Scripture and testimony
  • Participate in the work God is doing through the World Race

These conversations are meant to be relational, not transactional. With training and support, you’ll learn how to share your story in a way that creates connection, not pressure, and leaves room for God to lead each interaction.

You’re opening a door. God does the rest.

God Is the Provider

One of the most freeing truths you’ll learn in this process is this: God is your provider.

Your responsibility is obedience and invitation. His responsibility is provision.

Prayer remains central before, during, and after every conversation. Ask people how you can pray for them. Pray together when possible. Trust that God is already working in ways you may not see yet.

This season will stretch your faith, but it will also deepen it.

Gratitude Is Part of the Ministry

Every interaction matters. Whether someone commits to pray, gives financially, or simply encourages you, each conversation is part of your ministry.

Writing thank-you notes, following up, and staying connected are acts of care. Gratitude reminds your partners that they aren’t just supporters; they are participants in the Race.

Support raising is relational; it’s about people, not transactions.

Running Together

Partnership doesn’t end once your support is raised. Throughout your Race, you’ll continue inviting people into the journey through stories, prayer requests, and updates about what God is doing on the field.

The World Race was never meant to be run solo. God has already begun preparing a community to run with you, to encourage you, pray for you, and be transformed alongside you.

When you invite others into the Race, you’re inviting them into something eternal.
