Exploring the World Race: A Look at Our International Bases

Where local discipleship meets global mission.
The World Race is more than just a mission trip, it’s a doorway into a global movement of Kingdom-building, rooted in long-term, local presence. While Racers travel the world for a season, many are surprised to discover that their greatest growth comes through connection with our international bases: permanent hubs where ongoing discipleship, community outreach, and sustainable impact take place year-round.
Here’s a look at how each of our six World Race international bases serves as a beacon of hope and transformation, both for the communities they serve and for Racers who join them in the work.
Cambodia
In the heart of Southeast Asia, our Cambodia base is focused on discipling the next generation and equipping locals to lead. Through youth ministries, church partnerships, and community outreach, Racers get to step into a spiritually hungry culture where the Gospel is advancing daily. Whether it’s teaching English, walking with local believers, or hosting village Bible studies, this base is a launching pad for deep relationships and lasting transformation.
Dominican Republic
Our DR base is located in the mountainous region of Jarabacoa, where family restoration, discipleship, and sports ministry are central to the mission. Racers have the opportunity to work with at-risk youth, assist with education and tutoring programs, and support local churches in both urban and rural communities. The emphasis on relational ministry creates powerful opportunities for cultural exchange, healing, and spiritual growth.
Eswatini
With one of the highest HIV rates in the world, Eswatini carries both deep need and incredible resilience. Our base here works tirelessly to serve through children’s feeding programs, youth discipleship, and care for the vulnerable. Racers join a long-standing ministry that’s been transforming lives for over a decade. With a strong local staff and a deep-rooted presence, Eswatini is where Racers witness firsthand what it means to love through consistency.
Nicaragua
In the hills outside Granada, our Nicaragua base is focused on building family through discipleship. Ministries range from construction and community improvement projects to women’s ministry, children’s outreach, and home visits. Racers are invited to live simply and love intentionally as they learn from local leaders and invest in long-term relationships. This base is a space for meaningful connection, spiritual growth, and sustainable missions.
Guatemala
Guatemala is where community and Kingdom collide. From vibrant children’s programs to strong local church partnerships, the focus here is on discipleship, education, and holistic development. Racers engage with both rural and urban communities, joining a base that embodies the values of sustainability, empowerment, and Christ-centered leadership. It’s a place where your hands will be busy, your heart will be stretched, and your faith will flourish.
South Asia
Our South Asia base operates in a region marked by deep spiritual need and incredible opportunity. Here, Racers support church planting, women’s empowerment, and outreach to unreached people groups. This base is known for its boldness and passion – inviting Racers to experience prayer-driven ministry and front-line Kingdom work in some of the most spiritually significant places on earth.
Why the Bases Matter
Each World Race base is more than a location, it’s a home, a training ground, and a Kingdom outpost. Racers don’t just “drop in” – they get to partner with long-term staff, build relationships that matter, and witness how consistency and presence create lasting impact.
When you serve at a base, you see missions differently. You understand the power of showing up again and again. And most importantly, you become part of a story that started long before you arrived and continues long after you leave.
