What It Really Means to Live the World Race Commitment

When you choose the World Race, you’re not just committing to a trip, you’re stepping into a way of life shaped by intimacy with God, humility in community, and intentional mission. This commitment forms the foundation of everything you’ll do on the field and everything God will do in you.
It’s more than expectations.
It’s a posture of the heart.

INTIMACY – Choosing to Trust
Intimacy with God is the starting point of the World Race. Before you preach a sermon, pack a backpack, or pray for a stranger, you learn to anchor your identity in who God says you are.
Identity Rooted in Christ (Galatians 2:20)
You’re stepping into a journey of becoming more like Jesus. This isn’t about performing or striving, it’s about living with a wholehearted “yes.” Racers learn to shed old identities and step boldly into the fullness God has already prepared for them.
Faith Grounded in Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16–17)
Every day on the Race includes opportunities to dive deep into the Word. Bible studies, discipleship tools, and a culture centered on truth help you learn how to recognize God’s voice and direction in real time.
Relationship with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Hebrews 4:16, James 4:8)
The Race disrupts your comfort in the best way. You’ll leave behind the things you’ve relied on and learn dependence on God alone. In moments of uncertainty, exhaustion, or awe, you’ll experience His nearness in ways that redefine your faith.
This is intimacy that transforms identity, from the inside out.

COMMUNITY — Choosing Humility
On the World Race, community isn’t optional. It’s intentional, stretching, refining, and deeply rewarding. You don’t just travel with your squad, you grow, sharpen, and become more like Christ together.
Spiritual Gifts Activated (1 Corinthians 12:4–6)
You’re invited to celebrate the unique gifts God placed in you and your teammates. Whether it’s teaching, serving, evangelism, creativity, or leadership, the Race creates space for everyone to operate in their God-given strengths.
Feedback & Encouragement (Hebrews 10:24–25)
You’ll practice honest conversations, vulnerability, and loving accountability. Through encouragement and constructive feedback, your team becomes a safe place for growth – one where iron sharpens iron.
Unity in Love (John 13:35)
Community on the Race is built on love, not perfection. You commit to choosing patience, forgiveness, and compassion. Relationships become places of emotional safety, spiritual breakthrough, and genuine connection.
This is the kind of community that changes you and the world around you.

MISSION — Choosing Intentionality
Mission isn’t something you do on the Race; it’s who you are. Everywhere you go, you carry the love and presence of Jesus.
Spread the Good News (Matthew 4:17–23)
You commit to sharing the Gospel with boldness and compassion, whether through ministry partnerships, local outreach, or simply the way you treat people. Your life becomes a visible testimony of God’s goodness.
Make Disciples (Matthew 28:18–20, 2 Timothy 2:2)
You’ll learn to meet people where they are, honor their culture, and share Jesus in ways that connect deeply. Discipleship is living a life others can follow.
Love Everyone (Luke 4:18–20, Matthew 22:37–40)
You commit to seeing every person as beloved by God. Through sacrificial love, you partner with Him to bring hope, healing, and freedom – from the streets of Cambodia to the mountains of Peru.
This is mission that outlasts the trip, because it becomes a lifestyle.
Living the Commitment
Every Racer commits to the World Race 101 Policies and Rule Guidelines. The Race is designed to form disciples who know God deeply, love people wholly, and carry the Gospel boldly.
If you’re ready to step into a journey marked by intimacy, humility, and intentional mission, the World Race is waiting. When you commit to the World Race, you’re not just signing up for travel.
You’re saying yes to becoming who God created you to be.
