Adventures in Missions partners with College of Athens, an accredited Christian college. This means you can earn a full year of study abroad college credit while on your Gap Year, Semesters, or World Race trip. Our partnership with College of Athens provides a 50% discount on their typical tuition rate -all you have to do is sign up.

After the mission, you can continue and eventually get a degree – or just earn the credits then transfer them to another university.

We offer leadership and ministry degrees, including associate’s (2-year), bachelor’s (4-year), and master’s degrees.

We offer an alumni trip as a credit option as well.

What does it cost?

The price tag is $150 per credit hour plus a $50 technology fee per semester you are overseas. The total cost is determined by how many credit hours (each class is 3 credit hours) you decide to take and how many semesters you are overseas. This is about 1/10th the cost of today’s average college education!

The cost covers tuition, instructors, and matriculation costs, and entry into a post-race prep course called “Thriving in College & Beyond.” This is in addition to your World Race program cost, which already includes your room, board and travel.

How much does it cost?

Adventures in Missions Program cost + $150/credit hour and $50/semester technology fee for credits earned in AIM programs.

Financial aid is available. Students need to fill out a separate financial aid application at: https://collegeofathens.edu/tuition-financial-aid/

How many credits do I earn?

If you enroll before going on the field, you can earn up to:

24 for World Race Gap Year
30 for WR Expedition
15 for Alumni Trip
12 for Semester Programs

When is money due?

AIM Program cost will follow regular fundraising deadlines and will be communicated by your Admissions Advisor.

College of Athens will set up a payment plan for you to make monthly payments for your credits throughout the course of the semester/your trip.

Are credits transferable?

Yes, they are. College of Athens is fully accredited and credits can be transferred to other institutions.

When you transfer credits, you’ll get a transcript that will say what classes you took and the number of credits earned for that class. Then the institution you’re transferring to will decide if those courses meet requirements they have for the degree program that you’re transferring into.

What do I need to do to qualify? (ie. Do extra work on the trip)

Enroll in College of Athens. You will need to document your study abroad field experiences through papers and blogs. You will also complete a book assignment for each course and a final self-reflection.

Are there SAT / ACT score requirements?

SAT minimum requirement is 940 and ACT is 16 composite. If a student doesn’t meet this, that’s okay, we’ll look at everything combined on their application. “Students are more than a test score” I like to say.

What kind of degree do I get? Are there options?

You can earn a 2-year Associate’s Degree (61 credits) or Bachelor’s Degree (121 credits) in Transformational Leadership or Christian Ministry in a variety of concentrations (including missions)! Or, if you already have your Bachelor’s Degree, you can pursue a Master of Arts (61 credits) or Master of Divinity (91 credits) degree in Christian Ministry in eight various concentrations. What is my last day to decide to get credits for my trip?

If you want full credit, you must be enrolled before departing on your trip. If you decide later (or even after your trip) that you want credit, you are still eligible, but less credits will be available at the following rate:

World Race – Semesters – 12
World Race – Alumni – 12

You will be required complete a significant amount of work after the fact if you wait to earn credits. It’s much easier on you to earn your credits along the way during your trip!
