Countries

Haiti

Your semester will start in Haiti, a nation considered the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, even before the 2010 earthquake. Corruption, crime, and the black market prevent them from rebuilding the country on their own. False gods and voodoo lure people deeper into darkness. However, Haiti is experiencing a spiritual revival like it has never seen before. The Church is becoming the driving force behind Haiti's ongoing rebirth. You will be partnering with Mission of Hope Haiti—an incredible partner of ours. You will spend the month going out into villages and sharing the love of God through evangelism and door-to-door prayer ministry. You will also have the opportunity to help with improvement projects on the ministry's campus.

Dominican Republic

You second month will be spent in the Dominican Republic with our partner, Hope for DR. The Dominican Republic has become a refuge for thousands of displaced people. Although known for its vast sugar plantations, the nation’s economy depends on tourism. Political corruption is a lasting issue, along with the expanding gap between wealthy and poor. The Dominican people are extremely friendly and laid back—quick to welcome and enter into a conversation. Hope for DR is run by a family and they call their ministry campus Hope Mountain. They have a network of local church plants and host lots of camps and services out of their home. You will get the opportunity to help with children’s ministry, lead vacation Bible school, and help with improvement projects on Hope Mountain. You will also have the opportunity to share the Gospel and build relationships in the neighborhood.
