Mission Trips
The Basics
Belize is an adventurer’s paradise.
Known for its ancient Mayan ruins and the largest cave system in Central America, the country also has one of the largest barrier reefs in the world—and the beautiful, Great Blue Hole.
However, beyond the resorts and tourist attractions, the people of Belize are searching for hope.
The nation has the lowest literacy rate in the Western Hemisphere. Almost half of the population are Roman Catholic, while 32% claim Protestant Christianity. Yet only about 10% regularly attend church.
Will you share the hope of abundant life in Christ in this beautiful country?
Culture
As is typical in Central America, time is more flexible than it is in the United States. It is not uncommon for events to start late or for people to be late to meet up.
Explore
Go tubing and caving in the Belmopan area.
Spend a day at Blue Hole National Park, a water hole created by an underground river that flows into a cave. If you want to visit the cave, bring a headlamp—and watch out for bats!
