Your life is changing...fast.
You're leaving home, trading security for freedom. Trading rules and restrictions for independence. As exciting as it all is, it's also a little scary.
You've worked pretty much your whole life to prepare for college. Every adult you talk to asks what's next. And you probably reply with an answer that sounds like what they want to hear. But deep down, does it feel true?
It's easy to look at studies with lots of numbers and statistics about how many students are undecided or how many times they change their majors (and it's a lot). But what really matters is you.
Maybe you're one of the few who knows exactly what you want to do with your life. That's awesome. But what if you're not? It's okay; you're not alone.
What if you could take a journey with God before trying to decide a major? What if you had a chance to see what's going on in other parts of the world and let God break your heart for what breaks his? What if you let God speak into your life before you spend time, money, and precious years studying something you're not completely sure about?
It's important to bring God to the center of your life while you're making those big college decisions. Taking an intentional year off from school can actually propel you into making the most of your college experience, setting you up for success after solidifying your identity in Christ.
We've seen the fruit of Christian students making wise decisions, in college and afterwards, because they took a season to seek after God's heart while serving His people.
World Race: Gap Year gives you a chance to discover what passions, gifts, and talents God has given you to pursue for the Kingdom of God.
World Race: Gap Year is a mission trip for college aged students that travels to three continents over the course of nine months. This incredible opportunity is available for anyone between the ages 18 and 22.
Like the World Race 11-month routes, Gap Year routes travel to multiple continents for the better part of the year. But Gap Year participants have the chance to do something amazing that our 11-month Racers only dream of: They get to stick around.
For three months at a time, three times in nine months, Gap Year participants get to go deep in a specific community, serving those most in need. They create lasting relationships with the people they encounter and gain extraordinary life experience that will launch them towards the life God's called them to.
Gap Year routes are posted along with the 11 month routes on the World Race routes page. If you're ready for a life lived beyond the ordinary, for a place to make a real and lasting impact, and for the challenge of a lifetime, World Race: Gap Year is for you.
If 9 months is still too long to commit to while you're in college, check out our Passport 1-3 month college-age trips.
