There are moments in life when stepping outside your routine opens your eyes to something bigger than yourself. A World Race Semester trip does exactly that. It creates space to grow in faith, serve alongside local communities, and experience how God is moving in different corners of the world.

The World Race Southeast Asia Semesters trip is an opportunity to spend two months immersed in ministry and culture across Cambodia and Thailand. From June 1 to July 31, 2026, participants will travel to two countries rich in history, resilience, and spiritual opportunity, serving alongside local leaders while learning what it means to live out the Gospel globally.

For those ready to spend a season learning, serving, and growing, Southeast Asia offers a powerful place to begin.

Cambodia: A Story of Restoration

Cambodia carries a complex history marked by hardship, resilience, and renewal. In the decades since the Khmer Rouge era, the country has worked tirelessly to rebuild its communities and restore hope for future generations. Today, Cambodia is a place where the Church continues to grow and where local ministries are making a lasting impact.

Many ministries in Cambodia focus on education, youth development, and community support. You may find yourself helping at after-school programs, assisting with children’s outreach, supporting community centers, or partnering with churches that are investing deeply in their neighborhoods.

Cambodia’s population is largely influenced by Buddhism, yet the Christian community continues to grow steadily. According to global mission research, Christians still make up a small percentage of the population, which means there are meaningful opportunities to encourage local believers and build relationships that point people toward Christ.

Beyond ministry, Cambodia’s culture is rich with hospitality and resilience. From the bustling streets of Phnom Penh to the quiet villages scattered throughout the countryside, you’ll encounter people whose generosity and openness leave a lasting impression.

Serving in Cambodia invites you to slow down, listen well, and learn what it means to walk alongside communities with humility and compassion.

Thailand: A Culture of Beauty and Opportunity

Thailand is known around the world for its vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes, and welcoming people. But beyond its beauty lies a deep spiritual landscape where ministries are faithfully serving their communities.

Thailand is predominantly Buddhist, with only a small percentage of the population identifying as Christian. This creates a unique opportunity for long-term relational ministry and partnership with local churches and organizations that are sharing hope through acts of service and compassion.

During your time in Thailand, you may work with community outreach programs, assist local churches, participate in youth and children’s ministry, or support outreach initiatives in both urban and rural settings. Many World Race teams partner with ministries focused on education, outreach to vulnerable communities, and discipleship.

Thailand’s cities hum with energy while its rural areas offer a slower rhythm of life. Experiencing both allows participants to see the diversity of the country while learning from believers who are faithfully living out their faith in their own cultural context.

Ministry in Thailand often centers on relationship-building, sharing meals, listening to stories, and walking alongside people with patience and genuine care.

What Two Months Can Do

A semester trip may be shorter than a full World Race, but the impact can still be profound. In two months, participants step into rhythms of daily ministry, intentional community, and personal spiritual growth.

You’ll serve alongside experienced ministry partners, learn from local leaders, and gain a deeper understanding of the global Church. You’ll also grow through living in close-knit community with your team, navigating cultural differences, and relying on God in new ways.

For many participants, a semester becomes a season where faith moves from theory into practice.
