From Stranger to Storyteller: How the World Race Shapes Your Testimony

Because your story is more powerful than you think.
Before the World Race, you might feel like a stranger to your own story.
You know God has done something in your life, but putting it into words? That feels… intimidating.
But then you launch. You start walking dusty roads, meeting new people, hearing stories that stir your heart, and watching God move in ways you didn’t expect. Somewhere along the way, you realize: you’re not just on a mission trip – you’re living a story worth telling.
Every country adds a new chapter.
In Guatemala, maybe it’s the first time you share your testimony out loud – and someone meets Jesus because of it. In Greece, maybe it’s late-night team worship that helps you surrender pain you didn’t realize you were still carrying. In Nepal, maybe it’s praying for healing and watching God show up in power.
As the journey unfolds, so does your understanding of who God is and who you are in Him. The fears, doubts, and insecurities that once silenced you start to fade. What grows in their place is something bold and beautiful: a testimony marked by grace, growth, and transformation.
On the World Race, you’ll share your story often, with teammates, with strangers, with people who have never heard the name of Jesus.
At first, it might feel awkward. Maybe even scary. But eventually, you realize: it’s not about having the perfect words – it’s about pointing to a perfect Savior.
You’ll watch God use your brokenness to bring healing. Your questions to spark curiosity. Your honesty to give others permission to be real, too.
One Racer shared, “I used to think my story was too small. But I’ve seen it open doors, build bridges, and invite people into conversations they never would have had otherwise. God uses it. Every time.”
You Become a Witness to the Gospel in Motion
The World Race teaches you to notice the holy in the everyday.
You start to collect moments that change you:
- A meal shared with a family who has nothing, yet gives you everything.
- A worship night under the stars in a language you don’t understand, but a Spirit you do.
- A quiet morning when God speaks through His Word and reminds you, “This is part of your story too.”
When you return home, you won’t just have stories about where you went. You’ll have a story about who you became– and how Jesus met you, again and again.
And the best part? It’s just the beginning. The World Race isn’t the whole story. It’s a launching point. You’ll come home with a deeper faith, a refined voice, and a heart on fire to share what God has done. Whether you’re leading, discipling friends, teaching, or simply living faithfully in your community, you’ll carry this story with you.
And you’ll keep telling it because it’s too good not to.
